Mezzo-Soprano and Voiceover

Ever since I made my debut at the tender age of 5, as the eponymous Snow White, I've been fascinated by the world of make-believe. It wasn't until the age of 10 however that I decided that it was definitely what I wanted to do with my life (other career choices had included a nun, a private investigator or a librarian). By that time, I was devising little shows much to the amusement of my neighbours in Fountainstown in Co. Cork (even once putting on a full scale production of "The Sound of Music", in which all the "actors" forgot how the movie ended and devised an ending where Rolf ran away with the Von Trapps. My first foray into improvisational theatre).

However, it wasn't until some years later, when a Cork director called Musetta Joyce took an interest in me, that my childhood dream started to take a very real shape.  My first part was as Edna, the maid, in her production of "An Inspector Calls" - I had one line, and loved every minute of it.  I then went on to play lead roles in "The Importance of Being Earnest", "Many Young Men of Twenty" (only the second time this John B.Keane play was produced ever), "Eclipsed", "The Playboy of the Western World" and others in venues around Cork City like the Everyman Palace Theatre and the Granary Theatre in Cork City. I was well and truly hooked.

However, on moving to London, it became very clear to me that drama school training was very important, and I was lucky enough to gain a place at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Since graduating in 2002, I've been a 16th century mystic, an alcoholic single mother, a French pussycat, a novelist, a photographer, a news station editor, a nun (I knew I'd get there sometime!), a Eurovision singer, among other parts. To see the full sum of my parts, please take a look at my Spotlight CV and my Casting Call Pro profile. Or you can see me in action straight away in my showreel!
